Friday, September 7th

Today, we took a look at the craft of history. We used an imaginary scenario to illustrate the use of primary and secondary sources. We also discussed the qualities needed for reliable witnesses to history. We will follow this up with an exercise on Monday.

Today we started an assignment with a reading from Peter Stearns. This is due on Tuesday.

In addition, I handed out an essay assignment that will be due next Friday. Students were able to get the readings for this paper so that they can start their research this weekend.

On Monday, we will talk about reliable sources for history. Then you will have the period to either finish the Stearns assignment or to work on your essay.
