I returned the essays to the class. I spent some time going over the qualities of effective introductions and conclusions. I also reviewed techniques for the proper use of quotations in a research paper.
We finished taking notes on the 6 themes for the course. Then we brainstormed the qualities of a "civilization." This will lay the groundwork for the upcoming unit on Greece and Rome.
